Fern Haven Farm and ragdoll cattery is owned and operated by husband and wife, Cameron and Avery Nelson. We met many years ago on the horse show circuit and our relationship blossomed largely due to our mutual love of animals. We both grew up raising horses and competing across the country to the National championship level. Both of us have a tremendous passion for raising animals, and selectively breeding with the goal of improving towards the breed standard with each generation. This is something we each learned growing up on our family farms, and now we have been fortunate enough to settle down on 10 beautiful acres in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Salem, Oregon. We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect place for us and our animals. In addition to our wonderful ragdoll cats, we have a small herd of horses, a flock of 10 chickens, 2 playful pygmy goats, 2 Huacaya alpacas, and our 3 loving Australian Labradoodles.

After falling in love with this wonderful breed of cat, we did months of thorough research, looking for just the right breeder to purchase our first ragdoll cats from. We were blessed to find Jane Balter of Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls in California, who graciously offered to be my mentor in this new adventure. Shortly after moving here, we welcomed home our first 2 ragdolls, Magnolia and Penelope. Love at first sight would be an understatement! They instantly confirmed our passion and excitement for the Ragdoll breed, and we cannot wait to home-raise our own Ragdoll kittens to share with loving families.

Our goal here at Fern Haven Ragdolls, is to produce happy, healthy and beautiful Ragdoll kittens with wonderful temperaments. We do health testing on all of our breeding cats, and take extra measures to promote the health and well being of our kittens. All of our kittens are raised in our home, as part of our family, to ensure lots of care, attention, and the best socialization and interaction possible. And don’t forget lots and lots of love!! Our kittens receive proper vet care, and are up to date on all of their vaccinations, micro-chipped for permanent identification, and spayed/neutered before leaving for their forever homes. We strive to produce kittens that will be the perfect addition to your family.
